Kayaking
Try your hand on hard shell, inflatable, sit on tops and touring kayaks. Rent them at local outlets. I recommend trying out on flat lakes before getting into moving water. There use to be a river runner club years ago. Due to lack of space for storage and dwindling membership, most are now doing their own thing.
Good place to start is ask at the info centre on which place to go for some easy spots. The rivers here in Jasper National Park is shallow and dangerous. No your stuff before heading on moving water.
