Explore The DarkNight Photography
Night fun with lights, with a bonus of exploring a cave.
Can never get enough exploring this cave in Maligne Canyon. The biggest problem is the entrance seems to be tighter every time us explorers go in there. Getting night shots is an ongoing struggle, especially when you don’t bring a tripod, hand held shots are hit and a miss, either you moved the camera on shutter release or the subject moves. Then you have to think about the moisture that engulf your lenses and of course lighting. If you use a flash, everything gets so dull and cold. Lastly, you have to have willing participants that will be as patient as you can handle for those slow shutter speed and retakes. Did not get any good shots? Well, we will have to try again…
Often I get a question on what is there to do in Jasper in the winter other than skiing. I usually reply to them to go through explorejasper.com's website and search for activities in the winter and you will find there are a lot more than just skiing in Jasper...
