Snowshoe – Snaring River
Re-visiting the canyon
With a nice wave of warm weather, an Explore Jasper snowshoe trip was due. We have visited this area about 8 years ago with cross-country skis and this time with snowshoes.
I was hoping to find the icefalls that I had remembered years ago, but it was not there this time around. The trek was still as beautiful as it was.
We happened to stumble upon a deer carcass near a steep embankment along with a Pine Marten picking off the carcass.
One note on this trip was breaking through an ice shelf, luckily it was not too deep, however it did soak one of my boot for an uncomfortable trip back to the vehicles.
