Canoeing on Maligne Lake
We picked up our National Parks fishing permit (provincial fishing permits are not valid in National Parks) the day before at a local sport shop ( On-Line Fish & Tackle ) and got a tip from the vendor that Maligne Lake was the hot spot to be!
We defintely went the luxury route on this excursion, on top of the license, we rented an 18 foot freighter canoe with motor and several batteries. I would say four batteries would be sufficient to get to Coronet Creek and back. Plus we had a portable solar charger along which help get the batteries topped up.

For a moment I thought we had to paddle the frieghter back from Coronet Creek when the shear pin snapped and no thrust was happening with the propeller. Luckily, Reg is pretty handy at fixing things.
