Cross-Country Ski Moab Lake

Part of the historical route to Athabasca Pass

This Lake is easier to get to now that Parks Canada extended the cross country ski trail access starting point on Hwy 93a further south this year. It starts at the Whirlpool hub.

Couple of options here to choose from. For the intermediate, go all the way to Moab Lake viewpoint 7.6km or have a leisurely ski to the red chairs.

Some certain days, the river can be covered nicely and you will be able to travel on the Whirlpool river to access Moab Lake. I have hit that condition once way back when.

The road is normally track set by parks Canada, which will make for easier glide.
