Edith Cavell — Bike Ride

Still early season to visit Edith Cavell, as the road is still closed to the motorized vehicles, but not to self propelled activities. This area is a must see attraction if you are ever in Jasper.

A leisurely 14 km ride up the road
Amazing scenery along the way.

The road should be ready to open May long weekend, but it is still up to Parks Canada to decide when it will be available to motorized vehicles.

Grouse, just hanging out beside the road
Clean fresh water break

We chose to ride our bikes to the top of the road but there was still snow covered areas that forced us off our bikes. You can rent bikes at the local bike shops like Freewheel Cycle, mountain or road.

The bridge is just couple more kilometres to go…
Ran into some snow patches
Oops, snow is a little thick

It is refreshing to hike, a couple we met that hails from Nova Scotia did the hike.  We biked on the road and not worry about cars, specially on the descent.

Snow is a little deep in places
